The Yamaha Method

Yamaha offers courses for children starting as young as three. Students benefit from five decades of Yamaha group-teaching development worldwide.  Students listen, move, sing, play, read and experience every aspect of music.  The style and level of instruction is tailored to their ability, age, and development.  As they advance, they study performance, improvisation and composition.

MUSIC WONDERLAND - 3-4 year old beginners  

This Yamaha program introduces young children to the world of music through singing, listening, rhythm activities, movement, and playing the keyboard.  These activities are designed to create a special time for parent and child in a positive and enjoyable atmosphere.
                                                                                                                                                                                  
JUNIOR MUSIC COURSE - 4-6 year old beginners

An ideal time to begin formal music training is between the ages of 4 and 5, when children are at their prime for developing a great ear for music.  Through hearing, singing, movement to music, playing and creating, your child will develop musical sensitivity, confidence, and enjoyment. This program provides an incomparable foundation for any future direction in music with years of development available to our students.
                                                                                                                                                                                  
YOUNG MUSICIANS COURSE - 6-10 year old beginners

This Yamaha course provides effective and enjoyable musical training for older beginners.  They are highly motivated by being part of a music ensemble, which generates individual effort, as well as confidence and team spirit.  Class activities include ear training, keyboard repertoire, keyboard harmony, music theory, arranging, singing, ensemble playing, improvisation, and composition.

JUNIOR EXTENSION COURSE - Graduates of JUNIOR MUSIC COURSE

Building on the skills and musicality developed in the Junior Music Course, and capitalizing on the physical, mental and emotional development of 7-9 year olds, the Junior Extension Course will help these young musicians blossom into incredibly versatile performers.  As the children develop more advanced musical skills, they are also encouraged to express themselves by performing and composing their own music through programs like Junior Original Concert. 
                                                                                                                                                                                
ADVANCED COURSES - Graduates of YAMAHA CLASSES

This Yamaha course provides effective and enjoyable musical training for older students.  We combine class and private lessons to develop a well rounded, yet independently talented musician.  Class activities include ear training, music theory, keyboard technic, ensemble playing, solo performing, sight reading, arranging, improvisation, and composition.  The private lessons assure that students are learning pieces at an advanced level suited to their level and interests.
