MUSIC WONDERLAND enables parents and children to enjoy expressing music together in these engaging music lessons.  This course is a wonderful introduction to the world of music, teaching musical concepts that are fun and age appropriate.  Even with such small hands, students begin to explore the keyboard through songs designed especially for this age.

Course materials

include two full-color textbooks and a fully-orchestrated CD. In class, students play along with the teacher’s live performance, as well as pre-recorded accompaniments on diskettes and CDs, giving these young musicians an early start on playing rhythmically and with other musicians.

Early Music Appreciation

An appreciation for all forms of music is strengthened by the various activities that take place between the children and their parents with many different styles of music.  Students learn to play a part in music-making with parent, friends, and teacher.

Keyboard Experience

Keyboards are used in the course as tools for expression of concepts such as high/low and loud/soft sounds, as well as teaching students various rhythmic patterns, and notes and rhythms on the keyboard.  Appropriate to this stage in their physical development, initial playing activities engage the use of large motor skills.  The use of different fingers is also introduced in a way that is natural for 3 and 4 year-old children.

Upon Completion of the Course

By the end of Music Wonderland, your child will have learned how to listen and react to songs and sound, and enjoy making music with others. You will see the start of little musicians who are already using all 5 fingers, can recognize and sing back simple solfege melodies, and are learning to appreciate and express themselves through the international language of music.  This course establishes an outstanding foundation and motivation for enriched study and skill that will continue in the  JUNIOR MUSIC COURSE.

Yamaha Instructors

Yamaha instructors must pass comprehensive musical examinations and attend regular Yamaha-sponsored seminars in order to gain and retain their teaching certification. Instructors are periodically observed and evaluated by Yamaha representatives to assist in improving and refining their teaching skills.
